How to create articles (2021)

Navigate the Backend

1. On the left side there is a selection of three types of data: documents, assets and data objects.​

2. For creating articles you click on data objects and work under enableme.ke​

3. Normal articles are created under articles, lead articles about disabilities or topics (for example law, sport) are created under content​

4. The two article versions differ only slightly, mainly in what information is conveyed in them. Leads introduce a topic/disability, articles are more in depth content for users.

Manage Assets​

1. Assets are picture we use on articles (can also be videos, pdf, more)​

2. Use Drag and Drop to upload pictures to the respective Assets folder (min. 1080p)​

3. Add custom metadata to each new asset (title, alt, and copyright) as an input​

4. Title and alt need to be localized/assigned a language, copyright doesnt

Create Article​

1. To create an article, you right click on the folder and select “add object”, “article” and the type of article you want to do. Same for content, you just select content!​

2. Important: The types of articles don’t have different functionalities, but are for structure in the backend.

Edit in an article​

1. Title and lead should always include keywords. Titels shouldn’t be longer than necessary.​

2. Read more label can be ignored.​

3. Author can be ignored at the moment. ​

4. Pictures can be dragged and dropped into the right window from the assets folder on the left.

Use categories​

1. Categories can be dragged and dropped from the data objects folder. Categories can be found in the folder “global”, “ categories”, “handicaps” and “topics”.​

2. Important: Use only as many categories as necessary, but at least one. (Max. 4)​

3. Important: You can create categories, but should always first see if there is not already one available. Please inform me if you create your first categories, so I can check them.

Fill in an article​

1. Click on Inline Edit to open the article main content site. ​

2. For text simply chose area_default and Wysiwyg. For Images choose Image.​

3. Use only H2 and H3 headlines, since H1 is reserved for the title.​

4. Try out the special elements for stylistic purposes. Check if they look good. 

Add SEO information​

1. Select SEO in the top.​

2. Add a title and a description for display on search engines in en_KE language.​

3. Remember to use keywords!
